In our time, we’ve taken perfectly reasonable properties and utterly transformed them with the addition of well-considered and aesthetically striking extensions. The additional space enhanced the lives of the occupants and added significant value to the property – the return on the investment being financial, emotional and practical.

Layouts will always need to change.

Buildings should be subservient to the needs of the occupants (and not the other way around) so the adaptation and alteration of floorplans and layouts to better serve and accommodate the building’s users becomes necessary as lives evolve within them. It always surprises us when we learn how many times our clients have said to each other, something like,

‘If only this bit here could be removed and that bit over there could lead into this room…’,

‘…a new kitchen would transform this home…’,

and, ‘…when are we going to knock this wall down?’, and how long dysfunctional layouts and floorplans have been tolerated before a decision to alter and renovate has been taken.

We had an instant rapport with Lee and Dan when we met them for the first time at our architect’s offices, and in this case first impressions proved accurate. They were extremely professional with us, with the added bonus of being honest, transparent, and a delight to deal with for the two years that we worked with them on our refurbishment project in central Cambridge. Like most building projects, our project over-ran on the time front. The initial estimate was one year, but it ended up being one and a half years. This was not altogether surprising, as more nasties were uncovered along the way (which thankfully they spotted and had the means to deal with) and we made a few modifications of our own. Lee, Dan and their team accommodated all of this with professionalism and good grace. The quality of their work is excellent, and we are thoroughly delighted with our lovely new home.

GreenChase did a brilliant job on our build, working carefully to update our 1960s property to a modern, light-filled house. Their team are friendly, kind and helpful, and provided an excellent quality of finish across the property. We have been very pleased with the level of service that we have received, and the finished product.
